Chairevolution! 300 Years of Designing the Chair
Minneapolis Insititute of Arts
September 16 – November 28, 2010
This exhibition takes a look at the meaning of good design by examining just one form over the course of more than 300 years–the chair. From the basic Tudor to Phillippe Starck’s Louis Ghost Armchair for Kartell, the exhibit explores twenty-one chairs to learn how designers have reconciled the desire for design with the basic need to find a place to sit.
This exhibition will be held in the Cargill Gallery 103 of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. The Museum is located at 2400 Third Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The exhibition is free. Museum hours are: Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.. The Museum is closed on Mondays.
