Update: Executive Director Search
In October 2007, The Furniture Society's Board of Trustees appointed a three-member search committee to recommend a successor for Andrew Glasgow, The Furniture Society's first Executive Director. The search committee worked diligently to recruit qualified candidates through professional consultants, employment listings, and personal networking. Though the committee interviewed many excellent candidates, it was decided to keep the search open and continue the interview process.

In the meantime, an Interim Executive Director has been appointed to support and manage the Society's development during the extended search. Lynn Szymanski will step down as Treasurer of the Executive Committee for the Board of Trustees and assume the responsibility of Interim Executive Director. The Nominating Committee is in the process of selecting a new member of the Executive Commmittee to serve as Treasurer. Lynn may be contacted by email.

The Executive Director search committee currently consists of Andy Glantz and Rachel Fuld, both of whom serve on the Executive Committee, as well as Miguel Gomez-Ibanez.
Architectural Digest Home Show & Member Discount
The 8th annual Architectural Digest Home Show will take place March 26-29, 2009 at Pier 94 in New York City. This will mark the 2nd year for the "MADE" section, featuring limited edition and one-of-a-kind fine art furnishings and objects from around the globe. Based on its success in 2008, "MADE" will be expanded and positioned at the front of the Show next March.

The exhibition space includes 10' free standing finished white walls and white carpet, and will be promoted throughout an extensive promotional campaign which generates hundreds of millions of media impressions. The AD Show is pleased to offer approved Furniture Society applicants a 15% discount on exhibit space. Membership must be current to apply and acceptance into the show will be juried by the AD Show management.

Space is limited. For more information, please contact Troy Hanson at 212.644.0833 or thanson@mmart.com.
